Eula's Introduction

EULA YOUTH
TALENT & COUNSELING CENTER

"Giving our Youth Direction for the Future"
UNITING WITH JOHN ROBERT POWERS TO EMPOWER THE LIVES OF OUR YOUTH

INTRODUCTION
Eula Youth Talent & Counseling Center recognizes obstacles faced by youth today. Growing up in a society filled with media conglomerates, advanced technology, and various environmental influences; the pressures faced by our youth are steadily growing. Their level of exposure is much higher than past generations. Affected by things such as peer pressure, drug abuse, sexual promiscuity, and increased youth gang involvement. They are more advanced in their knowledge and experiences; and they tend to mature a lot faster. Moreover, their conditions are only progressing as society increases its productivity.

Nonetheless, at Eula Youth Talent & Counseling Center, we also recognize that not everything in society is harmful. Media, technology, and some alternate factors can also produce a positive impact upon their lives. There is a lot of good that can be done, and a lot of favorable exposure to offset some of the negative pressures. Our program is specially designed to be a prolific asset to our youth.

Who do we service, and why?
Considering teenagers are the closest generation to adulthood, and have limited programs designed specifically for them; we’ve focused our program on youth ages 13-17.
Furthermore, this program is particularly structured for At-Risk Youth, and youth whose parents/guardians may not be able to afford programs such as ours for their child’s benefit and determent. We believe that it is this population who needs our

services the most:
There is a significant portion of the population who are economically challenged. Moreover, there are parents/guardians who are overwhelmed; and may not have the time to dedicate, the skills, or the knowledge to intervene on their child’s behalf. Many families cannot afford beneficial support programs for their children; or are not aware of various resources or options unbeknownst to the predominant public.

Unfortunately, without adequate support, many of these children end up struggling with various social pressures, emotional instability, behavioral problems, challenges, and other factors affecting their life. Thus, many of these youth are easily influenced, act out (or have behavior disorders), and end up being runaways and offenders.

Ultimately, in some cases, various state agencies end up stepping in to take up the slack. Consequently, many children end up in placement with these agencies, and the state becomes responsible for providing for the child and ensuring they receive the necessary preventative measures and interventions.

While the support and intervention from various state agencies are highly needed and beneficial, we also believe there is a population amongst these At-Risk Youth: whose lives may be changed, who are able to be transitioned, or who may also be susceptible to our preventative measures in place which are inclined to produce positive outcomes in their life. We believe that if we can reach these youth, we can limit some of the transitions and significant life changes they experience as adolescents, and thus create stability.

Finally, Eula Talent & Counseling Center provides services to At-Risk Youth, because these are the children who predominantly end up being Repeat Offenders and may ultimately end up Incarcerated as Adults. We do not want our youth to be a statistic of tomorrow. We believe that for as many lives that we save, there are still many more to come, and still more work to do. For that reason, we will continue to effectively review, analyze, adjust, and employ our services and support programs to meet the unique needs of this population of youth. This is not just a job to us; this is our passion, our mission, and a cherished obligation. Our youth, is our future.

How are we funded?
Many of our services (Mentoring, Tutoring, and The Arts) are at no-cost to the recipients; they are funded through grants, donors, and alternative sources (i.e., fundraisers, etc.). Moreover, while private pay is accepted, we intend to receive funding for our counseling services through insurance payments (i.e., Medicaid, HMO, PPO, and POS. Thereby, allowing our services to be easily accessible to those who may not be in the best predicament to afford our services, but are yet still in need and can benefit from what we offer. Eula Youth Talent & Counseling Center believes that agencies and programs like ours can provide a buffer in the lives of our youth: enhancing their well-being, promoting self-sufficiency, and preparing them for the future ahead. Thus, we are dedicated in making our services accessible, so every child can have the opportunity to survive.

PROGRAM SUMMARY
Eula Youth Talent & Counseling Center is a youth program for teenagers. We seek at-risk youth from the community whom would like to explore their talents and abilities with the support of an agency with experience. Eula not only prepares our teens for a constructive life as an adult, but we enhance their lives as adolescents.
Although we acknowledge the significance of entering into adulthood (as their life, experiences, and understanding will change as they know it), we also consider the importance of their youth. Thus, each day with Eula is cherished, as they will be provided with assets for the present and their future.

Brief Description:
Eula program entails three primary components: (1). ARTS Exposure, (2). Academic Enrichment, and (3). Therapeutic Treatment. ARTS Exposure is significant because it provides our youth with a purpose. It allows them to find something distinguishing about themselves for which they can carry on with them in life. Through ARTS Exposure: they are able to identify gift(s) they may not know they have; or they can nurture and enhance the talent(s) they already know they possess.
Our ARTS Exposure curriculum is also significant in developing their self-esteem, their confidence, their respect, and their character. The 3 Ps we practice are: Poise, Public Speaking, and Personal Development. While this curriculum has its bonuses, we also acknowledge the importance of education. Academic Enrichment is extremely significant in enhancing their lives.

There are many youth who may not be self-teachers or fast-learners, and need additional assistance beyond that of which is found at school or home. This is why we also implement our Academic Enrichment Program. While ART has its own significance, Academics are a key element necessary in enhancing their productivity and their ability to be self-sufficient, well-rounded, members of society.

As education attainment levels have increased, job competition and the demand for qualified staff has also become stringent. Our Academic Enrichment program will help prepare our teens for extending their education, training, and skills beyond high school.

Finally, we also realize there are deeper underlying issues for which some teens may face. They may need an outlet that may not be able to be released through creative arts and education alone. Some issues they face may need to be addressed by a licensed therapist with experience working with teens and adolescents. Thus, we’ve also implemented the Therapeutic Treatment Component.

Independently, each program component is beneficial in meeting the needs of our participants. Together, the integration of all 3 components provides a comprehensive program conducive in making a profound and perpetual indentation upon their lives and their futures.

Eula's Method

EULA’S METHOD
There are many teenagers who are in need of an outlet: (1). An avenue towards finding
purpose outside of their daily routine, (2). A program filled with individuals who believe in them and support their aspirations, (3). A network of opportunities specifically designed with them in mind, and (4). A center where they can find themselves, enhance their understanding, and feel free expressing their individuality. Unfortunately, so often, it is this group that is neglected.
They have so much responsibility, so many pressures, and limited time between their youth and their entry into adulthood.

Our program method encompasses reaching this unique group of individuals. Those
who may need support attaining their ambitions, those who may need redirection towards better life choices, or those who may need assistance finding their path and purpose in life. We may not have all of the answers in life, but we do have a well-developed means for enlightening the lives of our youth.

Our method is to provide DIRECTION: by providing ample resources, efficient support,
and various avenue(s) to success. Our program method entails the utilizations of licensed, certified, and/or experienced staff and volunteers to lead productive classes, workshops, and support services. Although “Talent” is a highlighted component at Eula, we acknowledge its significance may be retained by the eye of the beholder. Hence, “Talent” is unique to the individual. Some are talented in certain areas, while others find their talent elsewhere.

At Eula, we focus on finding and nourishing the talent that is unique to the individual. Thus, along with ARTS Exposure, we also provide Academic Enrichment. Not everyone will be a talented singer or dancer, but some may be talented writers, researchers, etc. Furthermore, we include additional support services (such as counseling & mentoring) to enhance their wellbeing and promote their productivity. In essence, Eula Youth Talent & Counseling Center is more than simply A Youth Program; it is a Life Prep Program for Youth.
